Create your wallet

Creating a wallet takes two steps: sign in, then claim an Arca handle. You do not need to verify your identity during setup.

Before you begin

Install Arca from the App Store or Google Play. Use an email, Google, or Apple account you expect to keep access to; you will need the same sign-in method after reinstalling Arca or changing phones.

Hint: Remember which sign-in option you choose. Using a different account later can open a different wallet.

Create your wallet

1. Open Arca and tap Continue.
2. Choose a sign-in method and follow its prompts. By continuing, you agree to Arca’s Terms and Privacy Policy.
3. Keep Arca open while it prepares the wallet.
4. When You’re all set! appears, tap Go to Wallet.
5. Enter an available handle using 3–30 lowercase letters, numbers, or underscores. It cannot start or end with an underscore.
6. Optionally enter the handle of the person who invited you, then tap Claim handle.

Arca opens Wallet with an available balance of $0.00. The handle step cannot be skipped.

Keep access to your wallet

Everyday setup does not ask you to write down a 12-word recovery phrase. Protect the sign-in account you chose, and never share its codes. Advanced recovery options are available under Settings > Keys & Recovery.

If setup does not finish

• If a handle cannot be claimed, check its format or try another available name.
• If setup appears stuck, keep the app open and confirm that your internet connection is working before trying again.
• Partner availability and later identity requirements can vary by region and service; this does not prevent you from creating the wallet.
