Welcome to Arca

A short tour of what Arca is and how the app is organized, so you know where to find everything before you start.

Arca is a dollar wallet on your phone. It lets you hold dollars, send them to any wallet, receive dollars from others, put some aside to grow, and move money to or from your bank account. You control your wallet. Arca cannot move your funds for you or freeze your balance.

This guide explains how the app is laid out. Once you know where each piece lives, the rest of the docs make more sense.

What Arca lets you do

  • Hold dollars as a balance in your wallet.
  • Buy dollars from a bank, card, or Apple Pay through an integrated partner.
  • Send dollars to any wallet address.
  • Receive dollars by sharing your wallet address or QR code.
  • Withdraw dollars to a bank account through an integrated partner.
  • Grow your dollars in SimpleFi, a section that puts your balance to work.
  • Connect to other apps that support wallets, using a QR code.

The four tabs at the bottom

Arca has four tabs. Tapping an icon at the bottom of the screen takes you to each one.

  1. Wallet — the home screen. Shows your Available Balance, quick buttons for Buy, Receive, and Send, your SimpleFi balance, a few Arca Apps, and a short list of recent transactions.
  2. Activity — the full history of everything that has moved in or out of your wallet, grouped by day.
  3. SimpleFi — where your balance can grow. You can deposit from your wallet into SimpleFi, pick a position, and withdraw any time.
  4. Apps — a list of verified apps that work with your Arca wallet. Tapping one opens its site.

Settings live behind a gear icon at the top of the screen, not in a tab.

Three buttons you will use most

On the Wallet tab, just under your Available Balance, there are three action buttons: Buy, Receive, and Send.

  • Buy is how you add dollars to your wallet. You pick your country, enter an amount, and complete the payment through a partner.
  • Receive shows your wallet address and a QR code. Share either one with someone who wants to send you dollars, or with another wallet app you are moving funds from.
  • Send opens a small menu with two paths: Withdraw to bank account for moving dollars out to your bank, or Send to a wallet for sending to another wallet address.

Your wallet address

Each Arca wallet has a unique address. It is a long string that starts with 0x, and it works like an account number that is safe to share. You do not have to memorize it. The app keeps track of it and shows it whenever you need it.

Anyone can send dollars to your address. No one can send dollars out without access to your wallet.
