Set up your Arca handle

Claim, share, and change the @handle people use to find and pay you with Arca Pay.

Your Arca handle begins with @ and gives you a share link such as arcawallet.app/@yourname. It is how other Arca users find and pay you with Arca Pay. Transfers from an exchange or another wallet still need a wallet address and network.

Hint: Share your handle directly from Arca to avoid spelling mistakes.

Claim your handle

  1. After wallet setup, tap Go to Wallet.
  2. Enter a handle with 3–30 lowercase letters, numbers, or underscores. It cannot start or end with an underscore.
  3. Wait for Arca to confirm that it is available.
  4. Optionally enter the handle of the person who invited you.
  5. Tap Claim handle.

Arca opens Wallet after the handle is claimed. This step cannot be skipped, and reserved, retired, or already-used handles cannot be claimed.

Share your handle to get paid

  1. On Wallet, tap Receive.
  2. Choose From another Arca user.
  3. Show the QR code, tap Copy link, or tap Share.

If the sender is using an exchange or another wallet, choose View wallet details and follow the network and token instructions instead.

Pay someone by handle

  1. Tap Send > Send to another Arca user.
  2. Search for the handle or scan its QR code.
  3. On Confirm recipient, check both the handle and wallet address.
  4. Enter the amount, add an optional note, and review the payment before sending.

The note is shared with you and the recipient but is not public. Previous payment history can help, but always confirm the recipient again.

Change your handle

  1. Open Settings > Wallet Details > Handle.
  2. Choose a new available handle and review the warning.
  3. Confirm the change.

Your old handle is retired permanently, and you must wait 60 days before changing the new one. Update anyone who uses your old link.

Caution: Changing your handle permanently retires the old one. Review the new handle carefully before confirming.

If a handle is unavailable or a payment looks wrong

  • Check the length and allowed characters, then try another name.
  • Share your link from inside Arca to avoid typing errors.
  • Do not trust a similar-looking handle; verify the person and address before sending.
  • If the recipient gave you a wallet address, use Send to a wallet, not a handle payment.
