Send to a wallet
The step-by-step flow for sending dollars to another wallet address, including how to pick the right network and use the QR scanner or address book.
Sending dollars to another wallet is the most common thing you will do with Arca. This could be another Arca user, a friend who uses a different app, an exchange you have an account on, or any wallet that supports US dollar tokens. The flow is the same either way.
Before you start
You need two things:
- A balance in your wallet. Tap Buy first if you are at $0.
- The recipient’s wallet address, or a QR code they can show you. A wallet address is a long string starting with
0x. Many wallet apps (including Arca) let you share yours with one tap.
Step 1: Open the Send menu
On the Wallet tab, tap Send. A small sheet appears with two options:
- Withdraw to bank account — Transfer dollars to your bank account, Cashapp etc.
- Send to a wallet — Send dollars to any wallet address.
Pick Send to a wallet.
Step 2: Pick the network and token
The app opens a token picker. Tap the network (Base or Optimism), then pick USDC or USDT from that network’s token list.
Ask the recipient which network they support. This is the single most important thing to get right. If you send USDC on Base to a wallet that only accepts USDC on Optimism, the dollars can be lost. Most wallets support both, but always check first. The amber warning on your Receive screen says the same thing: only send to supported networks.
If you are sending to another Arca user, they support both Base and Optimism, so either works.
Step 3: Enter the amount and recipient
The Send screen has the amount at the top, then the token, recipient field, and fee details below it. Type the dollar amount you want to send.
Then fill in the recipient. You have three ways to do that:
- Type or paste — tap the input field and paste the address from your clipboard, or type it. There is a paste icon on the right side of the field.
- Address Book — tap the Address Book button to pick a contact you have saved before.
- QR Code — tap the QR Code button to open the scanner. Point it at a QR code the recipient is showing you.
The app checks that the address and amount look valid before letting you continue. If something is off, it tells you right away.
Below the recipient tools is Fee details, with the selected network and the current transfer fee. Tap the info icon beside Fee if you want to read how Arca calculates it.
Tap Review send.
Step 4: Confirm the details
The Review Details sheet shows everything in one card:
- To — the recipient address, shortened.
- Amount — how much you are sending and which token.
- Network — Base or Optimism.
- Fee — the transfer fee.
- Total amount — the full amount that will come out of your wallet.
Double-check the address and the amount. Transfers cannot be reversed once they go through, so take a second to confirm.
Tap Send USDC or Send USDT. While the transaction is being sent, the button says Sending USDC or Sending USDT.
Step 5: See the status
After you confirm, a status sheet appears:
- Pending transaction — the transfer is being sent. You can close the sheet and keep using the app. You will get a notification when the status changes.
- Transaction successful — the transfer went through. You see the amount and the recipient.
- Transaction failed — something went wrong. No funds were taken. Try again.
Completed transfers also show up in Activity with a timestamp and full details.
Tips
- Send a small test first when moving a large amount to a new destination. Wait for it to arrive, then send the rest.
- Save the address in your Address Book if you will use it again. See the Save contacts in Address Book guide.
- Check the network twice. It is the easiest mistake to avoid and the hardest to recover from.
